Skincare and Holiday Haul

I have been on a mission in recent months to improve my skincare routine. I am so lazy when it comes to looking after my face so recently I have been making an effort to try harder and make my face happy. When I went to Boots last week I managed to stay away from the make up and ended up picking up a few skincare goodies and also a few bits and bobs for my holiday!

Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed Super Self Heating  Deep Pore Detox Face Mask-
I really wanted a new face mask and recently my skin has felt very clogged up so when I stumbled across this little gem from Soap and Glory I thought it would be a perfect solution for my skincare woes. I haven't had a chance to try this out yet but after reading a couple of reviews I am excited to give it a try. When I get back from holiday I will be in the market for a hydrating face mask so if you have any ideas, let me know!

YES To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub-
I have heard a few good things about this brand but mostly from Americans so I didn't think it was available in the UK so when I found this on the shelves of Boots I was really excited. I knew I wanted to try the brand out but wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to try but I have been looking for a good daily face scrub so this seemed perfect. It has a really nice grapefruit smell but with a fresh lemon twist as well. Again I haven't had a chance to try this but I am looking forward to give it a go!

La Roche Possay Anthelios Face Comfort Cream Tinted SPF+ -
So I have officially made my first La Roche Possay purchase. My housemates love the Effaclar Duo but I have never given it a go. I knew for holiday that I wanted a high SPF for my face and also a tinted moisturiser for wearing around the pool so when I read about this on a blog (can't remember whos) I couldn't wait to try this out. It has 50 SPF which is perfect for my fair skin but also has a lovely tint of colour which will be perfect for daytimes around the pool! I think this will be a summer essential so I will give this a full review when I get back from holiday.

Hawaiian Tropics Silk Hydration Aftersun Coconut Papaya Fragrance Lotion-
Before I begin I just want to say I wish you could some how smell this. I think this has to be the nicest thing I have ever smelt, it literally smells like summer. This is fairly pricey for an aftersun, but I managed to get it on offer so didn't feel too guilty. I am very fair so I tend to burn a little on holiday so this will be perfect for helping my skin recover after a lovely day in the sun and will also leave me smelling like a tropical fruit salad, yum!

Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel-
So I bought this aftersun because I wasn't sure if the boyfriend wanted to smell like coconut and papaya! I also think this will be perfect for if I get really burnt and wanted some really deep hydration as it contains aloe vera. As this is a gel it will be super cooling as well, will probably leave this in the fridge so it is super cold for the end of the day!

So that is it for my skincare/holiday haul. I am so excited to go on holiday so I am sorry if I keep going on about it!! Make sure you click back tomorrow to see what I have used up over the last month. Have you guys got any skincare recommendations? Please leave a comment below if you have. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

May Lust List

It is that time of the month again when I share all the products I have been lusting over recently!! My holiday is only 10 days away so lots of my money is going towards that this month so I'm not sure how many of these products I will get round to purchasing, but I am hoping all!!

1. Stila In The Light Palette, £25
I have seen this palette been talked about for ages and it has never really attracted me but I recently noticed that they have started selling Stila in Boots and when I saw the palette in person I died and went to make up heaven! The palette is really nice  and neutral toned which is ideal for everyday use for me. I have been saving up my Boots points for a while so I may have to splurge on this soon!!

2. Jo Malone Silk Blossom Cologne, Limited Edition, £42
I have been obsessed with Jo Malone since I bought my mum one of their perfumes in March but I have never found a smell that I have really really loved. When I went in the other week though I smelt this and thought it was just amazing, it is the perfect amount of sweetness mixed with musk and I love it. I will be keeping my out for this one at duty free!

3. Eco Tools Skin Perfecting Brush, £7.99
So last but not least is this brush from Eco Tools. I don't actually own any of their brushes but have often checked them out and been fairly impressed by the look of them. I saw this at the end of last month and thought it just looked perfect! The shape is amazing and I think this will be perfect for giving flawless looking make up!!

Ok so that is all for my lust list!! I will be posting a tag tomorrow that I was tagged in the other day which will be fun, so make sure to check that out! I'm off now to enjoy the sun, let me know below what you guys have been lusting over this month to give me some inspiration! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

MAC Hauling

Over the last couple of weeks I have had a lot going on and was feeling a tad upset about life so I turned to the best kind of therapy to get me through it and that is retail therapy, especially high end make up retail therapy!! I am not normally a massive MAC buyer but recently I seem to be popping in whenever I have a chance, so here is a little peak at what I have bought,

First up is a repurchase and that was of Chatterbox, this is my favourite MAC lipstick and maybe even my favourite lipstick ever? I think of this as my signature lip colour and whenever I can't think of what to use I lean for this. It is a really pretty blue pink colour which is really girly and just makes your lips look lovely. It is one of the creemesheen lipsticks so leaves your lips looking almost glossy which I love.

The next 3 things I bought weren't actually from a MAC shop but from The Cosmetic Company which is an outlet make up shop which stocks MAC, Smashbox, Bumble and Bumble and much more, I think it sells all the brands that are part of the Estee Lauder company. I don't know how many of these there are but the one I went to was in Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. It mostly sells stuff from old collections but you can also find stuff they sell currently as well. I watched one of Tanya Burr's get ready with me's the other week and loved the pigment she used in it so when I saw that it was in the outlet shop I had to buy it! The Golden Olive Pigment was only £11, so a bit of bargain, and as you probably guessed it's a golden olive colour. I really like the pigments from MAC as they are so shimmery and pretty and this is probably my favourite one I have. I have used this once so far and I really like it, I just wore it all across my lid and then blended so it looked a little bit more subtle.

Also from here I picked up a Pearl Matte Face Powder in Pink Buttercream. This is just the prettiest thing!! It is embossed with the most adorable little pink flower and was only £15 (my mum did very kindly buy this for me though!!). I haven't used this too much yet, mostly because I don't want to ruin the flower but I think it will be a beautiful pinky highlighter. I think this was limited edition last May so I am quite far behind on the trend but I still think it looks fab!

My next item isn't actually from MAC but I thought I would chuck it in here anyway and it is the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, that was a repurchase because my old one had all dried out! I think this mascara is fab, the brush is the perfect size to get all of your bottom lashes covered and also doesn't leave you with panda eyes. I think the packaging is really pretty as well, and I am such a sucker for good packaging!!

Finally is the thing I am probably most excited about which is strange because it is just a nude lip liner, but it is from the Alluring Aquatic collection currently available at MAC which means it has the most stunning packaging! The What Comes Naturally Lipliner is just the most perfect nude colour. I don't have a nude lipliner so when I saw MAC was doing one and that it was going to have the prettiest packaging I just couldn't resist!! I am yet to even get this out of the box because it is just so pretty but hopefully you will be hearing more about this soon!

So I think that is all for my haul, it may not be a lot of products but as they are MAC they cost a fair bit for my student budget! Hope you enjoyed haul, let me know if you have got anything from the Alluring Aquatic collection? and if so what is good? Because I want more turquoise packaging! Come back in a couple of days where I will be doing a tag foryou all, hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

My Room Mini Tour

Living in a student house can be really hard. You are only there for a couple of years and there isn't much about the decor and design of the house you can change so it can be difficult to make it your own but finally after living here since September I have managed to get my room organised and pretty so I thought I would give you a little look around.

All the walls in my bedroom are a creamy beige colour which although is boring it is nice and neutral so I don't have to match it with duvuet covers or anything. This room is much bigger than my room at home but somehow I have managed to fill this room with so much stuff, I can't imagine living in a smaller room now!! The pictures below are going to be of my favourite bits and hope you enjoy have a snoop around.

This cute little heart from Primark I bought a couple of months ago and I think it just adorable. I have hung it on my door just because I didn't really have anywhere else to put it but I think it looks really cute there. I really like the colour of it, it is a lovely neutral grey colour so would look amazing against so many different colours!

Moving onto my bed area, the duvuet covers I have on the bed most of the time are from Ikea and are just a pretty blue with pink flowers, as my room is quite plain I think it is just a pretty pop of colour to brighten it up. I only started using these covers again in April because I think they are very summery so have given my room a spring/summer vibe!! The fairy lights above my bed are both for decoration and practical use, I don't have a lamp in my room so the fairy lights I use for dimmed atmospheric lighting!! These are from Ikea as well and the pretty blue floral cushion is from Dunelm Mill.

Moving over to my shelves, now I will admit the top shelf is a complete mess!! This is where I just dump all the things that don't have a space anywhere else! I am sure that at some point I may get around to sorting it, but that will be no time soon. The bottom shelf however is a bit of an organised chaos. On the left I keep all my nail varnishes, I did use to keep them in a box (which will feature later) but my growing make up collection meant they were pushed to the shelf. Further along is all my jewellery. I try to keep them in 2 paisley print dishes I bought in a charity shop but as I buy more they have just spilled out onto the shelf! I am looking for some new storage ideas if anyone has any good ones?? Finally is just a random collection of bits and bobs, the flowers and vase are both from Ikea as is the lantern on the end. And the LOVE sign is from Dunelm Mill.

Now make up storage time! As you may have been able to tell I am not the most organised person in the world but when it comes to make up I am fairly on top of it. The clear storage on the left looks like Muji but is actually from Rymans and that is where all my lipsticks, lipglosses and lipliners live, (as well as in the bottom of my bag!). The drawers in the middle I got from Asda and that is where the majority of things live, foundation, mascaras, blushers, bronzers and more all have their place in one of the drawers. Finally is this cute maquillage box that my Mum got me for Christmas, this is where I keep all my palettes! If at any point you would like a more detailed look at my collection let me know!

And finally my little treat to myself, flowers. I don't have flowers all the time but whenever I remember I try to get some, I took these photos after Easter and these are tulips which are think are very Easter themed. Flowers just brighten up the room and also smell lovely!! The vase was an Christmas present so I am not sure where it is from but I think John Lewis and the little wax burner next to it is from Yankee Candle, and the tart I am currently burning is called Lake Sunset. I really like the smell of it but I also think the colour of the wax is really nice!

So that was just a brief look into my uni bedroom, if you are at uni maybe this has given you some inspiration and if not maybe you just like being nosey like I do. Make sure to come back soon to see a fairly large MAC haul! I finish second year on Thursday so expect a lot more posts in the coming months! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

April Favourites

Ok so long time no blog but I have been feeling a little bit meh recently and also had loads and loads of uni work on which has been taking up most of my time but I am finally here with my april favourites!!

First up and also a product that I have really needed this month and that is Grease Lightning from Lush. I am pretty sure I did a whole review on this or talked about it previously but this month I have love love loved it!! I have broken out a few times over the last month (including right now!) and everytime I have a break out this is the product I have turned to. It smells lovely and natural, it contains tea tree which I already know does wonders for my skin. I tend to put this on before bed and also in the morning before I apply my make up. If you haven't tried this product out but have problem skin stop reading this and go get it please!

Next is the only make up product in my favourites this month but it is a very good product!! I haven't actually heard too much about this product but bought it on a whim earlier in the year and it is the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. This is great!! The packaging is a bit plain and it doesn't come with a pump so it can get messy but generally this is a fabulous product. It has light to medium coverage but after application it doesn't even feel like you have anything on your skin at all. I use this most days and actually finished the product up a couple of days a go. I have never actually finished any foundation before so I think that shows how much I love it!!

My final beauty related favourite and that is the Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush perfume. I got this for christmas and it has now becoming my favourite fragrance. I think the bottle is absoloutely stunning and looks so lovely on my dressing table, the smell itself is lovely as well. The smell is a nice mix of floralness and sexyness which means it is great for evening wear. I don't really have that many perfumes and although I love this one I really want to try some more so if you have any suggestions let me know below!

Now finally this stunning number from Zara. My mum (my biggest blogging fan) saw this was on my april lust list and very kindly went and bought it for me for easter! This is just such a pretty statement necklace, I have never had anything as statementy as this so I was a bit nervous when I first wore it but I think it is fab now. I tend to wear this with quite plain outfits just to jazz it up a bit. I don't plan on taking many necklaces away with me on holiday (because of baggage allowance) but this will definitely be in my case because it think the pastel colours will be perfect for summer weather!!

Reading this you won't understand how fast I just wrote that! Very excited about my monthly favourites I was. Sorry for the long absence again but don't worry I will be back with another post this week where there will be a little sneaky look into my room at uni! Now back I go to feminism and Marx, goodbye! Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed,
