The Colour Of Summer

Before I go any further who else is so excited that bake off is back? I am!!  I think I already have my favourites and some of the cakes last night looked awesome! Now that I have expressed my excitement for cake I can move on to talking about orange. This summer I have had a real think for orange make up wise so I thought I would share with you some of the orange products I have been loving this summer.

Bourjois Cream Blush in 02
This is my first cream blush from Bourjois and I have to say I am very impressed. In summer you can't go wrong with cream blusher and this one is really lovely. The colour is a beautiful coral orange colour which can be really easily built up for a brighter look but also can be used lightly for a more muted look. Texture wise this is really nice, it blends really easily and has a powder finish. Overall if you are looking at getting a cream blush, you should really give this little one a go.

MUA Blusher in Bon Bon
Staying on the blusher front I have also been loving this MUA blusher. I think MUA own it in terms of cheap blushers, they are so pigmented it is crazy!! I really like this one because it has a really lovely orange tone to it. Apply this lightly to the cheeks and it gives you a lovely orangey glow.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya
Now this has been a firm favourite since last year. I think these lip butters in general are awesome, the colour is really nice and pigmented but they also feel lovely on your lips. I don't actually know what colour papaya's are but I imagine they must be a similar colour to this lip butter? This is a lovely light orange coral colour which is perfect for a day time orange lip. Gives your lips that your lips but oranger look!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Rendezvous
If you are after a brighter orange lip, but not too crazy then this is perfect. This is a pretty true orange colour but not so bright that you look stupid! Again the texture of these balm stains are amazing and creamy but have such great colour pigmentation as well. These also smell so good, sometimes I just want to give them a lick!

MUA Eyeshadow Trio (Not Sure Of Name)
Another MUA goody. I have a few of these trio's but this one is my favourite and I really like this colour in particular which is a lovely coopery orange. These are suprisingly pigmented for the price and also last for a fairly long time, with a primer. This colour is a lovely all over lid colour and looks beautiful with a dark brown blended into the crease.

So they are all my orange products, can I just say how pretty are the flowers in my photo, I got them from Aldi for only £2!! I'm off to have a little chill out now, I had a hard afternoon of spending money so need a little rest now! Please give me a follow on Bloglovin so you can keep up to date with posts. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

Make Up Shake Up

When I find products I really like I tend to stick to those and the other products in my stash tend to get forgotten about but since I posted my Everyday Make Up post last week I have been trying to have a make up shake up! I've gone back into my collection and tried to use some of the products I had almost forgotten about. Now after a week or so of messing around with different make up here are my favourite things that I had forgotten all about!

First up is a foundation and it is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Fondation, I first started using this some when last year and I really really liked it but after purchasing Nars Sheer Glow and
Revlon Nearly Naked this got put at the back of the drawer. I have now used this most days in the last week and I completely love it again, this is a medium coverage foundation that leaves your skin looking beautiful and dewy, perfect for spring. As we head further into spring/summer I am going to make sure that this is in arms reach because I think it is a great foundation!

Now this isn't one product in particular but just a whole collection of blushers. Last summer I went through a stage of purchasing quite a few Natural Collections blushes. As you can see from the photo I have quite a few and I love them all equally. These all have such good pigmentation and are just stunning colours, most of the ones I have are pinky toned. I think these are all really great blushers but for me they don't have great lasting power but are still in my most loved list!

In recent months, when it comes to brows, I have been turning to my Body Shop Chocolate Linger eyeshadow and the Maybelline BROWdrama , which are both absoloutely fabulous. But when looking through my collection I refound the MUA Pro Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit and remembered how good this is! I think this little kit is only £3/4, which is amazing for how good quality this product is. It comes with 2 colours, a light ashy colour and a darker brown colour, for me a mix of both looks really lovely but I do sometimes just use the light ash brown colour when I am going for a more natural look. I really can not say enough good things about this product but if you haven't already tried it I would thoroughly recommend it.

Last but not least and again a collection of things, and this time I have rediscovered the Maybelline Colour 24hr Tattoos. Since getting the Naked palettes I have rarely strayed from using them but since finding these I have been grabbing these more often than not. These are great as a base before powder shadows but are also great on their own. A couple of the ones I have have dried out a bit but the colour you get from them is still amazing.

So that is all for my make up shake up, have you guys rediscovered any favourites recently? Please come back Saturday where I shall be talking about my favourite new product of the month! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

MUA BB Cream Review

As you can see this is very well loved!
On one of my many Superdrug trips over the last months I picked up this BB cream to add to my already extensive collection. I have owned this for about 6 weeks now so I feel I have used it enough to give it a pretty good review, so here goes!

I have this in the colour Light Rose, which is the 2nd lightest in the 8 colour selection. My initial first impression was that I really didn't like this at all! It tends to feel quite sticky on your skin for a good 10 minutes after you apply it, which I really really can't stand. This did almost immediately put me off this but because I had heard some good things I decided to persist, and I am really glad I did.

One layer of this does provide quite light coverage but it is super buildable so would be great for people with acne and people with perfect skin (if those people exist). It applies really easily and blends into the skin nicely, like I said it does feel quite sticky so I normally wait a few minutes after application before I put on the rest of my make up. Like most BB creams it leaves a super pretty dewy finish which I think is perfect for this time of year.

Overall I am very torn by this product, for £4 the standard of this is quite impressive but the stickiness of it does put me off quite a lot! I have quite the selection of drugstore BB creams and this is probably ranked somewhere in the middle. I would suggest you guys try this if you are interested though as it is a good cheap product! MUA have impressed me quite a lot recently and later this week I shall be doing a post on the best of MUA so make sure you check that out to see if these features at all!!

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading

July Favourites: Make Up Edition

So my final installment of monthly favourites and by far my longest list (sorry). July has literally flown by but I have still managed to notch up quite a few favourites!

First up a recent purchase and it is No 7 eye shadow brushes. Boots were doing their £3 off No7 make up at the beginning of the month so with my voucher in hand I purchased two of these brushes, the eye colour brush and eye shadow blend and contour brush. Both of the brushes are a really good quality and are now practically the only eye brushes I use. The eye colour brush is perfect for applying colour all over the lid where as the eye blend and contour brush is amazing for using in the crease ( a dupe for Mac 217 maybe?) Both are great brushes and also such a good price!
Mac Girl About Town

Next up is a cheeky product. I love drugstore make up but this is a higher end product, but a girl deserves a treat every once in a while I think!! This lipstick is £14 but I think it is completely worth the price tag. Mac Girl about town is just a stunning colour and has such a lovely texture and feel on the lips (like most mac lipsticks). The super bright pinky purple colour looks lovely on the lips and has great pigmentation. I'm loving a bright lip this summer and this a must have lipstick when it comes to summer brights.

Now concealer. Over the last month or so I seem to have unintentionally gathered quite a collection of concealers and this is a fairly new addition to my stash but is already becoming a firm favourite. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer is the perfect under eye/highlight concealer. You only need a small amount but it completely brightens your eyes and brings out those cheek bones. Over July I have found myself reaching for this more and more. I have struggled to find an under eye concealer but I think this has finally filled the whole in my make up life. If you haven't tried this head down to the shop right this second and try it out!

Eye shadows have been a must have this month and I find myself grabbing my MUA Undress Me Too palette literally everyday. The selection of 12 colours is great and the pigmentation is even better. I don't want to talk about this product too much as I have recently reviewed it so if you want to know more check out my review here.

Staying on the eye shadow theme I have also been loving this No7 eye shadow in Mink. I think I found this at the bottom of my Mum's make up bag about 6 months ago and stole it, as she has never used it. I wasn't expecting great things but I was pleasantly surprised. If I'm in a rush I just quickly apply this to the lids and I'm good to go. This colour is also really complimentary to many of my other eye shadow favourites so it is perfect for blending with other colours for a more dramatic eye look.

So that is it for another monthly favourites! I have loads of blogs planned for the coming months but if anyone has any requests or suggestions do let me know! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

Also let me know your make up favourites, I am in the mood for beauty shopping so would love to try some new products out!

Also also has anyone bought the new Maybelline babylips yet? I'm planning to do a review very soon!!

MUA Lipstick Review

From left to right: Shade 3, Shade 6, Shade 12 and Shade 13

For some reason I seem to be very behind on trying out MUA products but the other day I went crazy in Superdrug and decided to buy loads of their products. I picked up the BB cream and some blushes and then I saw the lipsticks!! I am a complete lipstick junkie and when I saw they were only £1 I was just overwhelmed! I bought 4 of them, disappointingly only one of them has a name but I bought shade 3, shade 6 (nectar), shade 12 and shade 13.

Shade 3 is a beautiful dark fuschia pink ( first one in the picture below). I have been wearing this loads since I got it and although it is really bright I think it looks great daytime or night. Next up is shade 6 or Nectar (second one in the picture below). Unfortunately when I purchased these there were no tester lipsticks so I couldn't swatch them before I bought so I was slightly worried about the colour of these. Luckily when I got home I swatched them all and was super happy. Shade 6 I particularly like because of the peachy coral colour with a summery orange tinge. This is a lot more orange than the other coral colours I own but I really love it! The third shade I picked up was shade 13, a super pigmented bright red (last one in the picture below). I have loads of red lipsticks but this one I just couldn't resist. It's beautiful, bright and also not too matte (which I sometimes find the problem with red lipsticks).

All of the three above have a really nice texture but they aren't that moisturising so I would advise  applying a balm beforehand as the lipstick can stick to dry or cracked lips. Also the colours are all super bright and pigmented but they don't have great staying power. If you eat or drink anything except to have to reapply straight after.

Now to talk about the final lipstick and my stand out favourite!! Shade 12 (third in the picture above) is a super glittery barbie pink colour which just looks amazing on the lips! This has a slightly different texture and feel on the lips to the others as it has a glitter effect to it. Now I'm normally not a massive fan of glittery lipsticks but I thought for such a cheap price it was worth trying one!

Overall I think that all these lipsticks are fab! Obviously they aren't the best lipsticks on the market but for the price they are great. I think these are great for trying out colours that you might normally be scared off. For £1 it isn't a massive deal if you don't end up using the product loads. Don't buy these expecting an amazing formulation but the colours are lovely and I think they are just such a good price. I'm so glad to have discovered them and I can't wait to go out and buy more!!!

Hope you enjoyed this little review, thanks for reading!!

P.S. My laptop is being an absolute pain at the moment so although I'm trying to blog everyday that may not end up happening!!

June Favourites: Make Up Edition

So here we go with part 2 of my monthly favourites, and this time it is my make up favourites!! So let's crack on with this list:

MUA Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit- £3.50 from Superdrug
I got this little beauty a couple of months back and I have been really impressed by it. For £3.50 I wasn't expecting great things but I was really pleasantly surprised. It comes with 2 colours a dark brown and then a more taupey brown colour. For me the lighter taupe colour is but I do occasionally use the darker colour on the ends of my brows where they are a bit lighter or if I want a more dramatic look. The kit also comes with a highlighter and a gel to set your brows and also some really cute mini tweezers. It's cheap and such a good quality and I know friends who have used this and it has lasted them ages.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush-£8.99 from Superdrug
Now this is the first real techniques brush I ever bought and I have to say it got me completely hooked. I use it mostly for putting on foundation and BB creams but as all of the brushes are multi purpose I use it for loads of other things as well. It is great for blending concealer, especially around the nose and under the eyes but it is also amazing for applying cream blushes. I think real technique brushes are just the best brushes and I would recommend everyone invest in them! Only today I convinced my friend to buy the starter kit and she loves them already.

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya-£7.99 from Boots
For some reason I use to really have a problem with Revlon but over the last couple of months I have been visiting their stand more and they actually have some fab products. Not only does this lip butter have great colour pay off but it leaves the lips feeling hydrated for ages. The smell is also so fresh and lovely and the colour is just perfect for summer. Been wearing it loads this month!

L'oreal Intenza Eyeliner in 02 Golden Black- £9.99 from Boots
For ages and ages I was not a fan of eyeliner, simply because I was completely rubbish at applying it! But a couple of months ago I decided that I need to just get an eyeliner and try and make it work. Now I can just about apply eyeliner without it looking like a child has drawn all over my eyelid (progress). This gel eyeliner is such a pretty colour, it's black but has flicks of gold throughout which creates a really pretty effect on your eye. But the thing I love about this product the most is the brush. It is very rare to find a product that actually comes with a half decent brush so when I started using this one I was blown away!! This gel eyeliner is the best I have and it has become my favourite one to use when I'm going on a night out.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Santa Rose- £3.99 from Superdrug
Now if you have read any of my previous posts you will know that I will literally buy any shade of make up if I like the name (I know I know it's bad) and this is blush is an example of this! I bought this back in December and I have loved it ever since, I lost it a couple of months ago and I was so so upset but finding it again made me love it even more. It's a beautiful corally bronze colour which makes your skin just glow. I would go as far as to say this is my all time favourite blush!! ( I know big claim). While on the topic of blushes I shall move on to my other favourite blush which is the Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blush in Pinched, I'm not going to talk about this one too much as i did a mini review in my summer essentials so if you want to hear about this go check that out (http://maquillagemagic.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/high-street-summer-beauty-essentials.html

Autograph Ultra Shine Twist-Up Lip Colour in Rose Shine- £9.50 from Marks and Spencer
So my final favourite I actual forgot to include in the picture, but it is this lip colour. The packaging of this is very similar to the Revlon Lip Balm Stains and it is also very similar in formulation to those. For me what makes this stand out though is the colour and the smell. The colour is just a lovely rosey pink which I am just completely obsessed with, I could wear it all day everyday for the rest of my life and still love it I think! Also the smell is amazing I want to lick it everytime I apply it!!

So that is it for my June monthly favourites. I did say I would do a skincare edition but instead of that I am going to do a current skincare routine next week !! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading.

MUA Undress Me Too Palette Review

In the last couple of months I have discovered a love for eyes hadow. I can waste hours sat in front of a mirror experimenting with everything from green shadow to a dark smokey eye. I'm a massive sleek fan and I just don't think you can beat their palettes but when i ventured into Superdrug last month I found this little palette for the amazing price of £4!! Yes £4!! That works out at about 33p per eye shadow (yes I am sad enough to have done the math).

This palette is just the most perfect neutral collection, it's great for beginners but also just for anyone who loves a good neutral eye. Over the last month I have used at least one of the shades practically every day and it is fast becoming a make up bag must have. Some people have said that this is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette, I unfortunately don't own that palette (on my list of things I MUST buy) so I can't comment on that.

I have two colours which I absolutely adore. Firstly is Shy this colour is a great base which you can easily build on but it is also a fabulous highlighter. I like to put it in the corners of my eyes after I've finished my make up look to make the eyes really pop. I have also discovered that this colour is great to put on your cupids bow to exaggerate the shape of you lips and make them look super shapely!

My other favourite colour is Reveal I think it's just the best colour! It's a lovely silvery taupe colour, it looks awesome on its own all over the lid but is also great blended with other colours in the palette. For me this is the best shade in the palette and a definite must have!!

On the negative side there is a few colours which I'm not in love with! Corrupt, the black colour is my first dislike. Personally I'm just not a massive fan of black eye shadow and I find this black colour in particular hard to blend and work with. I will still use this colour, mostly as an eyeliner, but it won't be one I'm reaching too a lot. Secondly is Fiery. In the palette I was loving this colour but after putting it on my lids it just didn't really work for me unfortunately! Again I will still use it but it just isn't one of my favourites!!

Overall I absolutely adore this palette. I think it's rare to find a collection of shadows where there isn't one stand out horrible colour. I know I will use every single colour and for just £4 it's a complete bargain!! I would recommend this to everyone and I highly suggest if you are heading to a Superdrug you pick one up!!
Top row from left to right: Naked, Devotion, Shy, Fiery, Lavish,Dreamy
Bottom row from left to right: Tranquil, Exposed, Reveal, Wink,Obsessed, Corrupt

Hope you enjoyed and Thanks for reading!
