How I Look After My Face: Skincare Treats

2 posts on skincare may have been enough but I couldn't talk about skincare and not mention some of the products that are just the best for giving your skin a little TLC. The products I am going to be talking about I don't use on a daily basis but are what I lean for if I'm having a little pamper, so here goes!

A good face mask is an absolute essential in any skincare routine and I have to admit I am a little addicted to face masks, I have so many but this is the one I having been loving at the moment. The Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed is exactly the type of mask my skin needs at the moment, it declogs pores which helps get rid of spots (and I have loads atm) and just leaves your face feeling beautifully clean and healthy. You apply this all over your face and it comes out white with little beads in, then you wet your face slightly and the little beads break, the mask turns blue and heats up, which is just so cool!! I am a massive fan of soap and glory but haven't tried too much of their skincare stuff so if you guys can recommend me anymore bits let me know please!

So in my morning routine I mentioned my everyday facial scrub but once a week or so I like to give my skin a bit more of an aggressive scrub and for that I love the Body Shop Spa Wisdom Japan Adzuki Bean and Rice Wash Grain. This is basically just a little jar of scrubby goodness! Like my other scrub I just use this in the shower, I scoop some out of the jar give it a good rub all over my face and then wash it off. My skin literally feels like new skin after using this! It is so so so soft. I would really really suggest trying this, if you have sensitive skin you might want to be slightly wary though because it is quite harsh. I also wouldn't suggest using this too often, I rarely use it more than once a week. These can be used on your body as well, I haven't actually tried that before but I reckon it would be really lovely on your body skin as well!

Staying on the theme of scrubs I will talk about my all time favourite lush product, I know that is a massive statement but I think you may agree. The Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub is not only a super scrub for your lips which just leaves them lovely and ready for any matte lipstick but also smells and tastes great. Now you can eat this stuff but I feel a bit weird about eating it so I just wash this off after I'm done. I tend to use this a couple of times a week but will use it more if I am wearing a matte lipstick that day/night because you need your lips to be in great condition for that. I haven't tried many other lip scrubs before but because this one is so great I don't think I really need to stray from this firm favourite. Also this is bright pink, could you really ask for more?

Finally onto another Body Shop number and that is the Cocoa Butter Beautifying Oil. I know loads of people love this product and use it for so many different things but I love it for my face as a little treat. I would say I have combination skin, I get dry patches but then get oily as well so I definitely couldn't use this product all the time but sometimes instead of my night time moisturiser I use this for a little more oily goodness. I literally use the tiniest amount of this and just pat it into my skin, mostly avoiding my T zone then just go to sleep. In the morning my skin feels amazing!

Ok so that is definitely enough skincare talk for a while! Hope you enjoyed these skincare posts because it isn't something I talk about a lot. Please come back tomorrow when I shall be talking about something naughty I have done recently, whoops!! Please follow me on Bloglovin and Instagram too if you want, hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

How I Look After My Face: Evening Skincare Routine

Last week I rambled on about my morning skincare routine and this week I thought I would further ramble on about skincare, but this time my evening skincare routine,

So my routine kicks off with taking my make up off. I use to be really bad and do this with make up wipes but now I tend to use a Hot Cloth Cleanser. The one I am loving at the moment is the Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm. I have to admit before using this I thought I really wouldn't get on with balms but now I love them! This massages into the skin so lovely and does a really good job of getting even waterproof make up off. My only problem with this is that it can leave your skin with a slight greasy residue on it.

In my morning routine I mentioned this cleansing water and toner and I am going to mention them again. I just use both of these quickly at night time, the cleansing water is amazing for just getting off any sneaky left over mascara and the toner just feels lovely on my skin. This toner is also really great to use when you feel a break out coming on because it gets rid of any pesky spots before they even appear!

A good moisturiser is a must before bed time but for me I have found it really hard to find one that is just perfect for me. I used a Nivea one for a while but found it slightly to heavy however thanks to Yes To I have found my perfect match!! I picked the Yes To Carrot Intense Hydration Night Cream up not too long ago but it already a firm favourite. This is a fairly thick consistency but it just melts into the skin perfectly. I have been travelling quite a bit recently and my skin normally really drys out because of that but with this it has stayed pretty good! This is also fragrance free which is great for sensitive skin.

Finally for my routine is just a simple (you'll get the joke in a sec) eye cream. For night time I love the Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm. As the name suggests this is lovely and soothing which is great for tired eyes at night time. This is a really light balm so it doesn't feel to heavy over an already heavy moisturiser. This is a lovely eye cream and the best part is that it is about £4!

So that is another chat about skincare over and done with. I will be squeezing out another skincare post tomorrow though, this time about skincare treats so make sure you pop back for that. Make sure to give my little blog a follow on Bloglovin. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

How I Look After My Face: Morning Skincare Routine

I am such a lazy person, whether it is exercise, eating healthy, doing the dishes or looking after my skin, I'm so damn lazy!! In recent months though I have really noticed that my skin has started to change and as I am getting older I can't just leave it alone to do its own thing, it is getting needy and wants attention. Because of this I have really stepped up my skincare routine and have found some products that I really enjoy using in the morning and I thought I would share them with you,

So first thing I do in the morning is jump into the shower, it really wakes my body up and to wake my face up I like to use the Yes To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub. I use this in the shower because that way I always remember to use it! This comes out like a whitey clear colour with little pink scruby beads. This smells so awesome and is the perfect amount of scrub for everyday without over scrubbing and leaving your face red raw! This keeps my skin feeling super soft and feeling really clean as well.

After shower time I just give my skin one final clean with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. This just gets rid of any make up residue that might be hanging around from the day before and provides a super clean base for when I apply make up. I use to really love the Bioderma cleansing water but I think after using nearly half of this bottle I actually prefer this one! It is also much cheaper and easier to get your hands on.

After this I just quickly tone, I have used this toner for as long as I can remember and I don't actually think I have ever tried another one!! The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner is perfect for my blemish prone skin. This is really good at mattifying your skin and also is really helpful for clearing up any spots I have, as well as preventing them.

Before applying moisturiser I just give my face a little spray of the Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist. This is really nice and refreshing but also rehydrates your skin. My skin has been feeling pretty dry recently so this just adds some much needed moisture!

Moisturiser wise I have been using the La Roche Possay Effaclar Duo. I wrote a review on this recently so won't ramble on too much but this is really good for young adult skin I think, it is aimed at helping to reduce redness as well as stopping blemishes. I am really enjoying using this but it isn't my holy grail moisturiser just yet.

My final step before make up is the Superdrug Vitamin E SPF 15 Radiance Eye Cream. Eye cream is the one thing I love using but I have never found one that I love, so if you have any you like let me know? This one is really good though, it is super lovely and creamy but blends in beautifully. It also has SPF 15 which is great. I just apply this with my ring fingers and gently blend in, this is just my fav part of my skincare routine!

So there you go, a little look at what I do every (most) mornings to keep my skin looking lovely! Tomorrow I shall be posting my night time skincare routine so make sure to pop back for that. Please give me a little follow on Bloglovin, it makes my day when I get a new follower. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed,

Skincare and Holiday Haul

I have been on a mission in recent months to improve my skincare routine. I am so lazy when it comes to looking after my face so recently I have been making an effort to try harder and make my face happy. When I went to Boots last week I managed to stay away from the make up and ended up picking up a few skincare goodies and also a few bits and bobs for my holiday!

Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed Super Self Heating  Deep Pore Detox Face Mask-
I really wanted a new face mask and recently my skin has felt very clogged up so when I stumbled across this little gem from Soap and Glory I thought it would be a perfect solution for my skincare woes. I haven't had a chance to try this out yet but after reading a couple of reviews I am excited to give it a try. When I get back from holiday I will be in the market for a hydrating face mask so if you have any ideas, let me know!

YES To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub-
I have heard a few good things about this brand but mostly from Americans so I didn't think it was available in the UK so when I found this on the shelves of Boots I was really excited. I knew I wanted to try the brand out but wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to try but I have been looking for a good daily face scrub so this seemed perfect. It has a really nice grapefruit smell but with a fresh lemon twist as well. Again I haven't had a chance to try this but I am looking forward to give it a go!

La Roche Possay Anthelios Face Comfort Cream Tinted SPF+ -
So I have officially made my first La Roche Possay purchase. My housemates love the Effaclar Duo but I have never given it a go. I knew for holiday that I wanted a high SPF for my face and also a tinted moisturiser for wearing around the pool so when I read about this on a blog (can't remember whos) I couldn't wait to try this out. It has 50 SPF which is perfect for my fair skin but also has a lovely tint of colour which will be perfect for daytimes around the pool! I think this will be a summer essential so I will give this a full review when I get back from holiday.

Hawaiian Tropics Silk Hydration Aftersun Coconut Papaya Fragrance Lotion-
Before I begin I just want to say I wish you could some how smell this. I think this has to be the nicest thing I have ever smelt, it literally smells like summer. This is fairly pricey for an aftersun, but I managed to get it on offer so didn't feel too guilty. I am very fair so I tend to burn a little on holiday so this will be perfect for helping my skin recover after a lovely day in the sun and will also leave me smelling like a tropical fruit salad, yum!

Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel-
So I bought this aftersun because I wasn't sure if the boyfriend wanted to smell like coconut and papaya! I also think this will be perfect for if I get really burnt and wanted some really deep hydration as it contains aloe vera. As this is a gel it will be super cooling as well, will probably leave this in the fridge so it is super cold for the end of the day!

So that is it for my skincare/holiday haul. I am so excited to go on holiday so I am sorry if I keep going on about it!! Make sure you click back tomorrow to see what I have used up over the last month. Have you guys got any skincare recommendations? Please leave a comment below if you have. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading,

April Favourites

Ok so long time no blog but I have been feeling a little bit meh recently and also had loads and loads of uni work on which has been taking up most of my time but I am finally here with my april favourites!!

First up and also a product that I have really needed this month and that is Grease Lightning from Lush. I am pretty sure I did a whole review on this or talked about it previously but this month I have love love loved it!! I have broken out a few times over the last month (including right now!) and everytime I have a break out this is the product I have turned to. It smells lovely and natural, it contains tea tree which I already know does wonders for my skin. I tend to put this on before bed and also in the morning before I apply my make up. If you haven't tried this product out but have problem skin stop reading this and go get it please!

Next is the only make up product in my favourites this month but it is a very good product!! I haven't actually heard too much about this product but bought it on a whim earlier in the year and it is the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. This is great!! The packaging is a bit plain and it doesn't come with a pump so it can get messy but generally this is a fabulous product. It has light to medium coverage but after application it doesn't even feel like you have anything on your skin at all. I use this most days and actually finished the product up a couple of days a go. I have never actually finished any foundation before so I think that shows how much I love it!!

My final beauty related favourite and that is the Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush perfume. I got this for christmas and it has now becoming my favourite fragrance. I think the bottle is absoloutely stunning and looks so lovely on my dressing table, the smell itself is lovely as well. The smell is a nice mix of floralness and sexyness which means it is great for evening wear. I don't really have that many perfumes and although I love this one I really want to try some more so if you have any suggestions let me know below!

Now finally this stunning number from Zara. My mum (my biggest blogging fan) saw this was on my april lust list and very kindly went and bought it for me for easter! This is just such a pretty statement necklace, I have never had anything as statementy as this so I was a bit nervous when I first wore it but I think it is fab now. I tend to wear this with quite plain outfits just to jazz it up a bit. I don't plan on taking many necklaces away with me on holiday (because of baggage allowance) but this will definitely be in my case because it think the pastel colours will be perfect for summer weather!!

Reading this you won't understand how fast I just wrote that! Very excited about my monthly favourites I was. Sorry for the long absence again but don't worry I will be back with another post this week where there will be a little sneaky look into my room at uni! Now back I go to feminism and Marx, goodbye! Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed,
